What next? Will they ban One Piece for featuring pirates as well? Anime have provided us with tons of entertainment. To us kids, it gave us a reason to congregate during recess, forming social groups and learning to reason why we support a particular character or nation’s choices.
Anime in western media is already heavily censored, translations twisted to fit this conservative narrative of purity and self-righteousness.
There are far more violent movies showing on western media. Heck if hyper-sexualization is their concern, there are many western movies that celebrated sexuality too. Why aren’t they touching those?

There have been a lot of countries banning anime since time immemorial, all for seemingly trivial reasons. Some of these claims are outlandish to the point of laughable. I mean banning Pokemon because it encourages gambling? Such a shame really.
